A Fresh Coat of Paint

For whatever it’s worth, this site is still here. And finally, with the necessary push from my brother and my wife, I’m kicking off a new chapter from this old book. It won’t be the same style or content from all those years ago. But it’ll be a more accurate representation of interests from the present day. I’m not sure if the blog will be active in any capacity, but I’ll let future me decide how that will play out. For now, this is just…

A work in progress.

Design. Furniture. Lifestyle. Projects. Art.

Originally created nearly 10 years ago, Almost Bohemian served as a travel and lifestyle blog for a curious and enthusiastic young american looking to find his place on earth. Well, that young guy finished grad school, sold damn near all his stuff and moved out of his warehouse. He set out east from California with a pretty gal by his side. They traveled the earth all the way around, east east east for near two years til they found themselves ready for a proper home. They settled down with her pup, and even adopted an old one-eyed dog. Later, they would foster-fail another pup after the pirate dog moved on to that farm upstate. The young couple hit the end of their twenties and even started feeling grown up. They got married. They even had some babies. With all this time on their hands now, they got to building and creating a home.

Fulfilling its original purpose, the website was left to dust-collecting on the archives of the internet. In recent months, we’ve decided to begin the process of sharing the creative process again. This website will now serve as the catalog for the almost bohemian, showcasing original works of art, furniture, design, and more.

  1. Hey David! I’ve been on a search for you! I’m hoping you will answer this. I’m in need of some warehouse help or atleast just suggestions. I seem to have found myself in your old stomping grounds! Barrio Logan at a bunker like warehouse we are going to be taking over in about a month. For 800 bucks I couldn’t resist but there is one huge problem. No shower… not sure where to start? There is a toilet.. so that’s a plus, I’ve thought about a gym pass.. but you see I’m married and as you know that just won’t do for the mrs. we’re young so we don’t mind ruffing it but i need to figure out a solution… Any advice? Thanks for your time!

  2. Love the website! Interested to see what you bring next !

Almost Bohemian is a great website I’m happy to have found. I found your ‘How to Live in a Warehouse’ page because I’ll be moving back home to the US soon too and don’t want to settle into anything too conventional. I’m young but not ready to surrender to a yuppy life. Thanks for sharing all your creativity and stories. I’ll be glad to see any new posts!
