“Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?”
— H.M. Warner, co-founder of Warner Brothers, 1927

This is the first of a weekly series that seeks to highlight a thoughtful reason to ignore the experts. After all, history often proves them wrong. So do what you love and pursue it with an obsession and passion. Create your own otaku. It doesn’t matter what your friends and family, the experts, and the oracles say. To quote a hero of mine, “Nobody knows the future, and it doesn’t matter!”

  1. Can’t wait to see these “quotes” every week. Great idea. I am pursuing my passions and I am having a great time doing it. 🙂

    • Thanks! Well the weekly quotes idea was half-inspired by you 🙂

I enjoy you most when you pursue your passions. Passionate people have the spark of life!

  2. That’s what teamwork is for! 🙂

It’s not just enough to ignore the experts though, you need to BECOME an expert too. You need to be someone who says “I will master the cinematic arts so that I can produce movies where actors talk.”

I see too many people ignoring experts and running around not knowing what they’re saying or doing. Mouthing off is easy, stepping up to the plate is more difficult… but so much more rewarding!

    • How did I overlook that?! This is why the comments have better info than the posts! 🙂

It’s not enough to ignore the experts (they never know it all anyway). We need to become the experts! I will be adding that from now on.

Thanks for the freakin’ brilliant insight!

  4. Great post. I’m dealing with many of these issues
    as well..
